Welcome to the Site
Welcome to National Disability Services' new website
NDS's new website was launched 25 February 2010.
The new site is greatly improved visually and, importantly, has been built to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) WCAG 1.0 Priority 3 standard wherever possible. NDS understands that the information migrated from the old site may not necessarily meet this standard but all new additions will. NDS will continue to work to improve the accessibility of the site.
Please bear with us over the coming weeks as we test the website and new membership database and rectify any bugs in the system.
Members and Associates
Life Members, Individual Associates and the Main Contact of Organisational Members/Associates currently listed in the National membership database have been emailed their password. If you cannot remember your password, visit the Forgotten Passwords page.
If you are a staff member of an Organisational Member or Organisational Associate and you don't have a password, you need to get your organisation's main contact (usually the CEO or General Manager) to add you.
Once logged in, Members/Associates can manage their details by clicking on the "Welcome <name>" text at the top right-hand side of the site. This allows you to:
- Review and edit your contact details and password (passwords must be at least 6 characters in length)
- Review and edit your preferences for receiving NDS emails
- Area of particular interest (Accommodation, OHS, Social Participation, Tax, etc)
- Information Source (News Updates, monthly newsletter, Info-e's, Training and Job advertisements, NDS event notifications)
- States interested in (National office, ACT, NSW, etc)
- Select a default State for filtering of information on the website eg. If you select National Office, whenever you login the site will automatically default to National Office information. You can manually change this by selecting a State from the Map or State drop-down box to view another State's information.
If you do not want to receive NDS emails, leave sections 'Area of particular interest' and 'Information Source' empty.
It is recommended that all members/associates login and check/update their preferences as soon as possible.
If you are the Main Contact for the organisation, you can also:
- Review and edit your organisation's details
- Renew your membership/subscription (during Renewal season - June/July)
- Add additional staff for website access and receipt of information
- Nominate an "Administrator" for your organisation who will also be able to add additional staff for website access and receipt of information
When you add an additional Staff member or Company Director, they will automatically receive an email advising of their login and password details - which can then be used on the website to manage their access/information via the "Welcome <name>" link.
Events
Only registered users of the NDS website (members, associates and non members) will be able to complete online registration of NDS events and conferences.
Non Members
Non Members can sign up to receive information such as NDS Info-e's, Conference notices and Jobs & Training emails. It will also make it easier for you to register for NDS conferences and events. Non Members will not have access to information designated Members-only, nor are they eligible to any benefits associated with being a Member or an Associate.
Problems
If you experience any difficulties or need to know who your Organisation's main contact is, please email the details to Emerson Riley.
