Information Services
In July 2007 Disability SA began proceedings to set up a ‘first stop’ information and referral service. Progress has been slower than anticipated. NDS South Australia understands this is due to a number of factors, not the least of which have been technical difficulties. A matrix which gives a brief overview of the current status of this project, what is planned and some of the issues, is available at http://www.nds.org.au/Members/SA/Archive/2008/Matrix.doc.

Comment sought on draft consent policy
The Office for Disability & Client Services is seeking feedback from the non-government disability sector on Draft Policy DIS/271 People with a Disability Consent to Service.
The policy aims to support the legal rights of people with a disability by ensuring that service providers gain the written consent of the individual, or their guardian, prior to admission to a service. Click here to read more...

Workshop
The writing and implementation of a Disability Action Plan is a requirement of the Service Agreements between the Office for Disability & Client Services and all non government providers.

Government/NGO Sector Forums
NDS and Disability Alliance will be hosting the third Forum for 2008. These Forums provide opportunities for our members to interact with Disability SA on topics/issues of interest/concern. Partnership Focus Group to be developed
The SA Department for Families and Communities is looking to develop a Partnership Focus Group with CSTDA grant funded providers.
Four half-day workshops are scheduled to accommodate country, metro and indigenous service providers with the objective to gather feedback. Click here to read more...
