Centre of Excellence opens at the University of Queensland's Ipswich Campus
The Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Support was officially opened by the Disability Services Minister, Lindy Nelsen-Carr, on Tuesday, 4 November at the University of Queensland's Ipswich Campus (formerly the Challinor Centre).
“The best international and home-grown talent will head up this first centre which will lead the development of best practice models and help roll these out across Queensland to help improve quality care and the lives of Queenslanders with a disability,” she said. Click here to read more...

Funding Policy Reform
The work of NDS, QCOSS and a range of other sector representatives on the funding policy project (formerly known as the Fair Level of Funding project) is now complete. The new costing methodology and funding policy are currently being prepared for Cabinet submission.
While the Reference Group is disappointed with the level of final detail it has had the chance to review, the Director General Linda Apelt has indicated that the level of transparency around funding decisions will be greatly improved. Click here to read more...
